I love to find treasure at thrift stores ~ especially those that support unique causes. A vast majority of the items I use to create these pieces of art came from a local thrift shop that support those with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities. It is a beautiful non profit organization that I have supported for many years, collecting unique fibers, yarns and unusual jewelry that is above grade or very unique. When I recently found a vintage metal loom, I dug out many boxes full of these yarns and jewelry pieces and I created my first mini tapestry. I love the textures and feel of all the different fibers. I spend hours sorting and combining colors to create a tapestry. Once finished, I sort through jewelry for the perfect accent plus a unique hanger. NO two are alike. I often create with no idea of the accents that will grace a finished piece. I currently have 6 finished tapestries that I have yet to find the special piece of jewelry to complete them. You just never know when the right thing will present and a new piece of artwork will be completed. Once my stash of fibers is gone, these mini art tapestries will not be created again. Get them while they last!

This white fiber tapestry was intended to be adorned with silver crystal snowflakes. After sorting through jewelry for a different piece, I found this angel. Once I laid it out on the tapestry I just had to zig away from the snowflakes to create this. It has showed in galleries and is very unique
